GOING STREAKING!

Look who I caught scooting around the house last night without a piece of clothing to his name! Yes, that is a diaper he's holding in his hand. :)

Pandora Cam: Friday, 2/20

During Butch and Susan's visit over Christmas, we ventured to Ikea where H first laid eyes on his favorite stuffed toy: a black and white panda that we have come to know as 'Pandora'.

Whenever H sees Pandora, he immediately starts screeching, morphs into this crazed Wild Child, and starts tackling and throwing him around. Here is a video of H and Pandora from yesterday's Pandora Cam.

Baby Talk: By HWB

And I quote:
  • Hi!
  • Bah! (Bye)
  • Ball
  • MAH-muh
  • DADA! (Beckham)
  • Uh-Oh
  • No (sounds more like 'nah')
  • Mah (more)
  • Nii-nii (night-night)
  • What's that?
  • Nana (banana)
  • All done! (sounds like 'alda!)
  • Elmo (side note: NO idea where he picked this up. We don't watch TV around him nor have any Elmo things in the house except for some books which he now goes to and points 'Meh-mo'! at)
  • Bra-bah (his Brown Bear book)

Adventures In Grocery Shopping

So I'm happy everyone was so touched by last week's grocery shopping experience with H -- perhaps this could evolve into a column of sorts if the adventures continue... and that's my way of previewing that this past Sunday brought more AIGS (or Adventures in Grocery Shopping).

Given the way last week played out, I was stocked to the gills on Sunday when Hunter and I ventured to Meijer. What I didn't realize I would need, however, was a beach towel.

Things were going well -- we'd hit Aisle 8 out of 15 and the sippy cup had just been doled out. Hunter was happily banging Ole Sippy on the grocery cart and I was ticking off items on the list (side note: I'm thrilled to say I've moved away from paper lists --> Hunter kept grabbing these and attempting to eat them while at the store --> now I'm using a Grocery Cart app on my iPhone. It tallies the price of items after I've crossed them off and stores coupon info. Amazing!). After performing a Great Roulenda balancing act of veering the cart from a large display where H was trying to upend the bottom can of tomatoes and also grabbing milk from the refrigerated section, we entered Aisle 8. The International Foods Aisle. I had my sights set on vacuum-sealed gnocci when suddenly Hunter let out a HUGE screech, erected his sippy cup in the air and... the lid came flying off, drenching Hunter in a Niagara-Falls style gush of fruit juice.

And he started screaming.

I immediately entered what can only be known as THE MOM ZONE, assessing supplies in my cart, damage and passersby impressions of the very scene. (P.S. it's amazing that onlookers have the ability to stare at you in times of crises like these. I mean, someone run down to Aisle 10 and grab me a roll of Bounty why don't you???) Since the waterfall was primarily contained to the compartment of the cart where Hunter was sitting (and yes, once again, my purse), I immediately stripped him down to a short-sleeve undershirt, draped his coat over the side of the cart to dry out, used wipes to clean up his face, grabbed a box of crackers from my cart to distract him and used Blank (i.e. his prized blanket) to 'towel' off his head and remaining soaked body parts. Fruit juice makes a heck of a hair gel by the way... I'm looking to market it in Fall '09.

And yes, I finally got to use the line: "Excuse me, but I think there's a clean up needed in Aisle 8."

Congrats Nicole: Omelle Hits Magazine Stands

As many of you know, my bro's GF Nicole is a talented co-founder, designer and partner of a fashionable, high-end shoe company called Omelle. She has been working tirelessly on the upcoming line, and flitting back and forth to Italy to oversee production.

Well the hard work has been paying off this month as Omelle is honored by national magazines, both consumer and trade. Some clips from their appearance in Lucky (my personal Fashionista Bible of Truth) and Footwear News are below.

Get caught up on the deets yourself at: http://omelle.com/2009/2. Their Shoetales blog is definitely bookmarked in my Faves.

Adorable Baby Video (not Hunter but they could be twins)!

Although not a video of OUR baby, caught a glimpse of this today and thought I'd share. Apparently I need to get Hunter up-to-speed on his map of the United States!

The 3 Stages Of Oreo Eating, Brought To You By HWB

So Daddy fed Hunter one of his first Oreo cookies last night... and here are the 3 Stages he went through in eating it:

1. The SCORE! "Finally! An Oreo of my very own! You cannot pry it from my iron-like grip!"

2. The Sugar Coma Sets In: "It feels sooooo good when it touches my lips..."

3. The AFTERMATH: "Hee hee... Anyone have a washcloth?"

My Sunday... By Jeanine Bobenmoyer

(SFX: Knuckles cracking, fingers being laid onto keyboard and typing resuming)

So Sunday was interesting. After enjoying a pleasant family meal at The Berkley Breakfast Club (I: multi-grain banana pancakes, Brad: biscuits/gravy, loaded hash browns, Hunter: French toast), we headed over to E and Laura's new house to check out the renovation progress.

Shortly thereafter, dropped Brad off at home, and H and I headed to do our usual Sunday morning grocery shopping. I was driving through our neighborhood and came across a couple of folks shoving a broken-down van out of the road. There were cars lining the street, making it terribly difficult to get through -- I attempted to squeeze by a huge truck and a Jeep, but only to almost side-swipe and come close to taking the mirror off the Jeep. Needless to say, the people sitting in the Jeep were none-too-pleased at my little stunt and were giving me the business. Wife was waving her arms angrily in the air while hubby just stared me down...We parted ways at the end of the street and I guiltily made my way to Meijer.

Hunter and I were 1/2-way through Meijer when he started getting super antsy. I had neglected to bring his sippy cup from the car (and thus was cursing my momentary stupidity) when he started unleashing his anger on me in Frozen Foods. I dug my arm into my purse in hopes of locating a toy or cracker packet of sorts when I realized my purse was soaking wet...

And that's when I saw it... my Son. Was. Leaking. From. His. Diaper. All over the produce in the cart. All into my purse. In the rush to get him out the door to the grocery, I'd forgotten to change his diaper. And yes, I too started crying.

Since the diapers in my purse were now soaked, I whipped the cart around and sprinted full force for the front door. Thank GOD I have an emergency pack of diapers and clothes in my car!!! Hunter was screaming, I was attempting to prolong his further shrieking by giving him Goldfish crackers which he was in turn throwing at anyone we passed in my sprint.

The extremely nice greeter at the front door took pity on me (perhaps it was my mascara-streaked face that he gave in to) and let me store my cart with him while I rushed out to the car cradle carrying Hunter so I didn't get pee on my clothes.

Since there is obviously NO changing table in the car, I attempted to change Hunter in the front seat with his head crammed next to the steering wheel, his bum hanging out facing every patron who passed us and him screeching up a storm. I'm truly surprised no one stopped me to ask what was happening.

FINALLY we make it back in the store, knock out the rest of our shopping and I'm contemplating leaving all of my peed-on-produce with the cashier (I mean WHAT do you say? I'm sorry, but all of this produce appears to smell like pee? I have NO idea how this could have happened?!). The people behind me in line entertain Hunter while I load up the conveyor belt with my goods when suddenly the man behind me asks me to hand him the divider. As I hand it over, our eyes meet and I'm instantly stricken with the need to vomit. It is none other than Mr. You Tried To Sideswipe My Car An Hour Ago man and his wife. And yes, he recognizes me too. The next 2 minutes felt like 50 as the cashier tried to make small talk over canned tomatoes and coo at Hunter. I have never fled from Meijer so fast in my life.

And that, my friends, was Sunday.

Love It... And Laugh

I think you know of our affinity and love for everything REALLY?!! from Saturday Night Live, but this was worth sharing...

Adding To The Rock Tee Collection

Had to show these off : As a gift from Brad's cousin Kate, these little tees appeared on our doorstep Monday. They are both for HWB and came in a size 5T (which let's face it, will fit him next week at the rate he's growing!) but i'm wondering if perhaps I can squeeze myself into them! How cute and thanks Kate!

Do You Hunk?

On occasion -- when I'm having a really bad day -- all I need to do is flip my chair around at the office and lay eyes on... The Hunk Wall. No, this isn't a horomonal, pre-teen's bedroom wall you're staring at: It's the divider of my cube at work (notice the ever-so-non-Creative-inspiring grey fabric behind it).

This wall has taken on a life of its own with co-workers and Clients alike even offering up suggestions for new adds.

Enjoy! I know I do.
